LIPOSCULPTURE

With the best techniques and materials introduced during the last years, liposuction (also called liposculpture) provides excellent results (and, more important, definitive) for the elimination of accumulated fats in the body.

It is performed under purely local anesthesia. A little incision, not larger than a few millimetres, allows reaching to the fat load with a two or three-millimetre diameter cannula. With this, connected to an electric aspirator or to a syringe in vacuum, we proceed to do the lipoaspiration. It is a delicate and art of work job that with the missions of emptying, but also regularizing and harmonizing the volumes and shapes.

The patients return immediately to their residence and after 24 hours are incorporated to usual activities. Showering is allowed after 48 hours.

At each session, depending on the volume and extension, many corporal zones, as many as possible to properly anesthetize without over passing the recommendable doses, are aspired. For example, it is usual to treat in the same session the two hips and knees, the abdomen and the lumbar zones, the two thighs and knees, etc.

However, the quality of the final result depends on some unavoidable factors: patient’s age, skin’s quality, volumes to eliminate, circulatory state, etc.

In some occasions, a retouch or programmed re-intervention is necessary to obtain the optimum result. It is indispensable when the volumes to extract are very large and/or when the skin is too flaccid.

This is the optimum treatments for the localized fat loads. We recommend practicing it as earliest as possible, to prevent the progressive skin’s deterioration (strain and secondary flaccidity) and to enjoy, as soon as possible, its esthetical benefits.

ULTRASONIC LIPOSCULPTURE

The liposuction or traditional lipoaspiration retires adipose cells, uprooting them. Ultrasonic liposculpture, instead, utilizes an ultrasound generator and a headrest with piezoelectric crystals to produce energy capable of destroying fat cells selectively without damaging noble elements as the vessels and lymphatic. This destruction process is called “cavitation”. Next the emulsion or liquefaction is aspired at low pressure for tissues’ smaller trauma and smaller physical effort of the surgeon. This technique involves smaller blood loss and minor post-surgery bruise, and allows removing larger fat volumes in just one surgical time.

LASER-ASSISTED LIPOSCULPTURE

It is another modern technique that utilizes laser energy to melt the fat and accommodate the skin better, reducing its irregularities when compared with a conventional liposculpture. It utilizes a probe that transmits the laser energy inside the lipo’s cannula, being able this way, to reach the fat cell (adipose) and to destroy it for its posterior aspiration.

This is the most modern method to treat adiposities. The specialist doctor makes the decision of which technology is going to be used.

Nowadays, the combination of the ultrasonic and/or laser-assisted liposculpture and liquid crystal screen endermologie on the post-surgery has essentially bettered the results.
